Family members of Faiz alleged that he was tortured by the police and hence died. However, the police denied the allegation and said that he was suffering from hyper tension.

Talking to media his son Azim Usmani said, “My father was picked up by 7 to 8 civil dress personals on Saturday without informing any of us.”

Salim Siddiqui, Usmani’s neighbor said, “We were told by the police that Faiz is seriously sick and admitted in the Sion hospital but when we reached the hospital we found him dead.”

Usmani’s brain vein was reportedly busted and initial report suggests that he died due to brain hemorrhage. The reason of the death can be confirmed only after the post mortem report.

Local MLA and state chief of Samajwadi Party, Abu Asim Azmi, visited Govandi and talking to reporter he said, “The culprits of the blasts should be hanged but investigative agencies should not pressurize mentally and torture common man that s/he dies.”
