Haryana's most wanted criminal arrested in Delhi
New Delhi : A man, declared as the most wanted criminal by Haryana for his role in various cases of murder, abduction, extortion, rape and fire arms, was arrested Thursday from a railway station in south Delhi, police said.
The accused, Surinder alias Balu, a resident of Gurgaon, was arrested from the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station while he was trying to board a train.
According to the police, the accused belongs to Fauji gang and was involved in at least 20 criminal cases of murder, abduction, extortion and possession of illegal firearms in Delhi and Gurgaon.
He was arrested after information was received through a web-based programme maintained by Delhi Police for exchange of information of crime and criminals in the city and its adjoining states.
"During interrogation the accused revealed that he was involved in a number of criminal cases and had also raped a girl along with an accomplice in a moving car on the Delhi-Jaipur highway a few months back," Deputy Commissioner of Police A.S. Cheema said.
"We have informed the Haryana Police about the arrest," he added.
