New Delhi : Seven Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for allegedly robbing the country villa of a Scottish national, police said Tuesday.
The seven had allegedly robbed the farmhouse of David Nisbet, senior executive of a multinational company, in the Vasant Kunj area of southwest Delhi on Monday.
Police recovered Rs.10,000 in cash, foreign currency in dollars, pounds and francs, gold and silver jewellery, six digital cameras, six mobile phones and six watches from their possession.
The men had scaled the walls of the country villa early Monday and tied up the inmates after threatening the guards. The men, who were wearing masks, ransacked the house and decamped with the booty.
Police said they had received information that the men would strike again at another country villa in the nearby Rajokari area. A trap was laid and they were arrested.
“During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were also involved in numerous burglaries in the city and in Gurgaon (Haryana),” Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav said.
