Raipur : Maoist guerrillas Friday partially damaged a house under construction and belonging to a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator in Chhattisgarh.
BJP’s Vikram Usendi is vice president of the Bastar Development Authority (BDA) and enjoys the status of a minister. The incident occurred in Pakhanjore in Kanker district, about 220 km from here.
Kanker Superintendent of Police V.K. Choubey said the rebels planted a powerful explosive in Usendi’s partially constructed house. But the blast only damaged a portion of the house.
