Dhaka : Bangladeshi Army Chief of Staff General Moeen U Ahmed Saturday said that “an evil force” wanted to destabilize the situation in the country but its design was frustrated.

The caretaker government imposed an indefinite curfew from Wednesday night and closed all universities and colleges in Dhaka and five other cities to contain the protests.

Within 24 hours they (politicians) poured in lot of money to instigate vandalism on the street.”
However, the army chief said, “the design could not succeed as we were vigilant. Their plan to destabilize the situation and undermine the government has been frustrated.”
