Gaza : Some Palestinian militant groups on Sunday claimed responsibility for shelling the Israeli targets around the Gaza Strip.
The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement, announced it launched two home-made rockets into southern Israel Sunday morning.
The group said in a statement that the attack was “a natural response to the frequent Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people.”
Israeli sources also reported the missile attack, saying two missiles landed near southern Israeli town of Sderot but caused no injury or damage.
Meanwhile, the Popular Resistance Committees claimed responsibility for firing three mortar rounds at Erez Crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
The Erez Crossing was opened Sunday to allow the first batch of people who stranded in the Gaza enclave enter Israel, by which they will travel outside.
