Mumbai : The family of Adnan Patrawala, the 16-year-old Mumbai collegian who was kidnapped and brutally murdered, has equally blamed the media and the police for the death of their son.
Aslam and Lubna Patrawala said that their son could have been saved. “It was the question of life and death of a boy. They apparently killed him after the news was flashed on television channels,” Aslam said. “The murderers should be hanged,” he added.
The Patrawala couple also demanded strict action against the policeman who leaked the news to the media. “He should be removed from service,” he said.
“The media must be more concerned and responsible in such cases. It was because of their competition that we suspect the incident occurred,” he alleged.
Aslam, however, denied allegations that Adnan was a pampered kid and said, “We had brought him up very carefully and he knew the value of money. Adnan had a learner’s license and drove better than me.”
“Adnan was an innocent boy and those around him pretended to be rich due to which he socialised with them. Even when he was kidnapped, he did not know about it,” Aslam said.
