London : A small earthquake has shaken the city of Manchester in northern England barely hours before the Indian cricket team takes on the home side in a day-night encounter.
This is the second tremor felt in the city within a few weeks, authorities said Thursday.
The city is gearing up to host the fourth one-day international between England and India later Thursday.
The minor tremor was felt in the city centre just after 0445 GMT but there were no reports of injuries or damage to property, the BBC said.
Seismologists at the British Geological Survey (BGS) in Edinburgh have confirmed the quake measured 2.4 on the Richter scale.
An earthquake measuring 2.5 was felt in Manchester Aug 10.
