Srinagar : Separatist guerrillas Friday killed a senior retired police officer in north Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police sources told IANS that militants entered the Babagund home of Muhammad Amin Khan, retired superintendent of police, 35 km from here Friday evening and fired a volley of fire at him.
“Khan succumbed to critical bullet injuries before he could be moved to hospital for treatment. He had retired from active service some months back,” a police officer said here.
It may be recalled that separatist guerrillas have been attacking local policemen in order to prevent their active participation in anti-militancy operations.
