Nepal to provide US$40,000 to Bangladesh for cyclone victims

Kathmandu : The government of Nepal pledged a support of US$ 40,000 as immediate relief to Bangladeshi people affected by severe cyclone that struck the southeast coast of the country recently.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the decision was taken in view to close and friendly relations between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The government of Nepal had expressed its condolences to the bereaved families in Bangladesh.

Nearly 3,300 people died when Cyclone Sidr smashed into southern Bangladesh on November 15 that left millions destitute and wiped out several villages.
