Islamabad : Pakistan successfully tested a Babur earth-earth cruise missile, named after a Mongolian emperor and developed by the country’s engineers, reported Army sources in this capital.
The Hatf-VII rocket of 434 mile range has capacity of movement almost in silence, reported a military communiqué broadcast by the Pakistan Associated Press (APP).
The missile could carries nuclear or conventional warheads and can be launch from military submarines or fighter planes.
The test will strengthen the south Asian country’s strategic capacity and improve national security, noted APP.
President Pervez Musharraf and acting Prime Minister Mohammad Mian Soomro congratulated scientists and engineers for the success and assured their total support of plans for all strategic projects.
