Islamabad : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf Saturday issued three presidential orders under which the state of emergency was lifted, local TV channel Dawn News reported.
Information Minister Nisar Memon described it as a “historic day”, saying that next month’s parliamentary elections would help the country’s return to democracy.
Musharraf was to deliver a live address to the nation at 1500 GMT.He imposed a state of emergency in the country on Nov 3.
