Thiruvananthapuram : Former UN Under-Secretary General and chairman of Dubai-based Afras Projects India Shashi Tharoor signed an agreement Wednesday to start a finishing school in Kerala for the young software professionals at the Technopark here.
Tharoor and Technopark CEO R.K. Nair inked the agreement to start the school -Academy for Personality Development and Communication – by March. The school will focus on the capacity building of young professionals.
“The academy will be world class with state-of-the-art technology to develop English speaking skills of young recruits at Technopark and focus on quality capacity building of young IT professionals,” said Tharoor.
Besides the professionals, employment-seeking youth in the universities and colleges will also have access to the institute.
American speech pathologist and trainer Tina Parsons will be heading the institute and will have an international faculty comprising eminent professionals in the field of communication.
Nair, lauding the efforts of Tharoor, said Kerala is gunning for a major share of the global outsourcing opportunity.
“Technopark is very happy that Tharoor, a Keralite of global stature, is setting up a world class training centre in here to address this critical issue,” said Nair.
