Cairo : Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is due to hold talks with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak in the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Wednesday on the Middle East peace process.
The daily “Al-Ahram” in its edition on Sunday said the planned talks would deal with efforts aimed at resuming negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis and possibility of working out a swap of prisoners between the two sides.
It will be Barak’s first visit to Egypt since assuming the defense post on June 14.
Egypt is trying to encourage the two sides to hold negotiations on final issues of disagreement.
