Dubai : Despite winning the three match one-day series against South Africa in Ireland, India are still ranked sixth in the latest one-day team rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) here Monday.
While world champions Australia retain the top position, South Africa continues to be the No. 2 side.
Australia have 130 rating points while South Africa have 124. New Zealand are third with 113 points and Pakistan fourth with 111. World Cup finalist Sri Lanka have 110 points to be ranked fifth ahead of India with 109 points.
Rahul Dravid's men will have the chance to climb up the ladder in the coming weeks when they play another eight one-dayers against Pakistan and England before the Twenty20 World Championships in South Africa.
The men in blue face traditional rivals Pakistan in Glasgow Tuesday. Then they play a seven-match series against England in August and September.
