New Delhi : Over 4,000 athletes from more then 100 countries will take part in the fourth Military World Games in Hyderabad in October.
Competition will be held in military pentathlon, shooting, parachuting (all military sports), football, handball, volleyball, triathlon, sailing, swimming, track & field (individual/team sports) besides judo, boxing, wrestling (combat sports).
Moreover, hockey and kabaddi will be played as demonstration sports, games' organising secretary S.C. Joshi said in an informal media interaction here Monday.
"There will be 15 disciplines in all. All events will be conducted in Hyderabad except sailing and triathlon, which will be held in Mumbai," he said.
Joshi said that Hyderabad was allotted the games after the successful conduct of the Afro-Asian Games, which impressed some key officials who put in a word with the International Military Sports Council, under whose aegis the games will be held.
