New Delhi : Petronet LNG has inked a sales and purchase agreement in Doha with Qatar's RasGas for the supply of about 1.25 million tonnes (MT) of LNG, which will be received at the Dahej terminal.
The capacity at the Dahej terminal was increased by 130 percent to 6.5 MT, which would be progressively commissioned between July 2008 and January 2009.
"This capacity which is further expandable by an additional vaporizer module of 2.5 MMTPA will be commissioned by end 2010. This would require construction of a second jetty, to be also commissioned by end 2010," Petronet LNG chief executive and managing director P. Dasgupta said in a statement Tuesday.
"Petronet has already signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gujarat Maritime Board for the concession agreement and other approvals for the second jetty – EPC for which would be awarded by June 2008," he added.
