The 9 p.m. programme – Ocean's Deadliest, Irwin's last television project – will be followed by a farewell tribute to Irwin, according to Rajiv Bakshi, associate director marketing and communication for Discovery Networks India.

"Through exhilarating adventure moments and never-before-seen footage, Animal Planet will recognise, celebrate and showcase Irwin's passion and enthusiasm for spreading the importance of wildlife conservation," Bakshi said Wednesday.

"In his last exploration, Ocean's Deadliest, Steve is joined by oceanographer and adventurer Phillippe Cousteau as they explore the waters between Australia's Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Cousteau, who was aboard Croc One with Irwin during the expedition when he was struck and killed by a stingray, narrates the programme," he added.
