New Delhi : A four-year-old girl was raped in northwest Delhi, allegedly by her neighbour. She was found unconscious in a drain Monday, police said.
The neighbour lured the child on the pretext of giving her a candy Sunday evening and then raped her, the police alleged. The victim lives in a slum cluster near the railway tracks in Shalimar Bagh.
Police said the accused was absconding. The incident came to light after some people found the child lying unconscious in a drain near her house Monday morning.
She was rushed to Ambedkar Hospital, where doctors confirmed that she was raped. Her condition was said to be stable.
"We have registered a case at the Shalimar Bagh police station and are looking for the suspect," Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Aggarwal said.
