New Delhi : A three-year-old boy, allegedly kidnapped while playing with his sister outside their grandparents' house in south Delhi, was found after a day from a nearby park Monday.
Dhruv Ray was recovered within hours of his alleged abduction from a park in Madangir area.
According to police, Dhruv was playing with elder sister Neha when an unidentified woman in her early 30s approached the children and took the boy with her on the pretext of giving him a chocolate.
A little later, when the boy failed to return, Neha raised an alarm and informed her mother.
The boy's father Sunil Ray told police that his family had not received any ransom call and they did not have any personal enmity with anyone.
"We immediately launched a hunt and deployed teams at all roads connecting the city with the neighbouring states," a senior police official said.
But they failed to locate the boy till Monday morning.
"Earlier in the day, we received a call from an unidentified person, who told us that he had come across the missing boy whose picture was printed in a local daily. On his information we recovered the boy from a park bench," the official added.
He said that boy was pale as it seemed he had been beaten by his abductors. Dhruv was later taken for a medical check-up.
"His abductors might have left him, fearing that they would be arrested soon," the official added.
