Manmohan Singh arrives for G8 Summit in Germany

Berlin : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here Wednesday for the G8 Outreach Summit to be held at the Baltic resort of Heiligendamm June 8.

He is scheduled to hold a few bilateral meetings with leaders like Chinese President Hu Jintao here Thursday after which he will proceed to Heiligendamm the next day for the G8 Outreach Summit, officials said.

On the margins of the summit, he is also expected to have some "pool asides" with several leaders including US President George W. Bush, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the chair of the G8 Summit, officials said.

India, Brazil, China, Mexico and South Africa are the five countries taking part in the outreach summit, where the focus would be on issues like climate change, world economy, global trade talks, cross-border investment and health.
