New Delhi : President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Friday said he would not seek a second five-year tenure, informed sources said.
According to the sources in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Kalam took the decision after "reviewing the situation" following an appeal from the Third Front to him to bid for another term.
Kalam had earlier told the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) that he would be ready to fight next month's presidential election if there was certainty about his winning.
