Damascus : The Middle East car race in the category of speed and climb began here on Friday with the participation of Kuwaiti racer Salah bin Eidan.

Bin Eidan told KUNA he was proud to represent Kuwait at the event, saying it was Kuwait’s first participation in such a race.

The race will feature participation of 28 experienced racers, who will climb a three-kilometer-long mountain road for three rounds in the shortest time possible.

The second phase of the race would be held in Jordan next August, while the third would be held in Lebanon in September.
