Yangon : A total of 27 people were killed and 11 wounded in two shooting incidents by insurgent groups in Myanmar's Kayin and Kayah states last weekend, a state-run newspaper reported Monday.
Ten people were killed and three wounded when suspected insurgents blew up a passenger bus, which was on its way to Thingannyinaung from Kawkareik in Kayin state, said the New Light of Myanmar.
In another incident, 17 people died and eight were injured when gunmen attacked another bus travelling from Mawchi to Loikaw in Kayah state.
