Belfast (Northern Ireland) : Sachin Tendulkar scored 99 as India posted 242 for eight wickets in 50 overs against South Africa in the first match of the Future Cup here Tuesday.
Tendulkar (143 balls, 12x4s) narrowly missed what would have been his 42nd century in One-day Internationals while captain Rahul Dravid made a fine 74 off 93 balls. Pacer Andre Nel took three wickets.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl at the Civil Service Cricket Club ground in Stormont.
