Bhubaneswar : Three unidentified miscreants Friday robbed a bank official and a security guard of Rs.200,000 in Orissa's Jajpur district, police said.

The incident took place at Palada, near the district headquarters, when Bharat Barik, the cashier, and Dhaneswar Majhi, the security guard of Union Bank of India's Utangara branch, were coming out of the main branch of the bank at Jajpur town after collecting money, a bank official said.

The miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons and snatched away the money before fleeing in the motorbike in which they were travelling.

The injured duo is now undergoing treatment in a local hospital, he added.

"We have launched search operation to nab the robbers and have sealed all the entry and exit points of the district," said additional superintendent of police Kartik Swain.
