UPA government has failed on all fronts: BJP

New Delhi : The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday attacked the three-year old United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for having "failed on all fronts".

As the UPA completed three years in power, BJP president Rajnath Singh and Leader of Opposition L.K. Advani said the government had failed to deliver on all fronts, especially internal security, food security, employment and corruption and described it as "directionless".

"I have seen the performance of every government at the centre since Independence. But I have not seen a government that is so utterly lacking in credibility, confidence and cohesion," Advani said in a statement.

Demanding its immediate dismissal, Advani pointed to major areas in which he alleged the UPA government's performance was disastrous, including soaring inflation, farmers' suicides, internal security, lack of decision on hanging parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal, move for communal census in the armed forces, the Indo-US nuclear deal and infiltration from Bangladesh.
