Agra : A 13-year-old boy from this Taj Mahal city has entered the Limca Book of Records for playing the guitar – 45 hours at a stretch!

Akash Gupta from Agra's St Peter's College began strumming the guitar Sunday afternoon and ended 45 hours later on Tuesday evening.

There was jubilation as the notes died down – in the presence of Limca officials – with his supporters and family hugging and kissing the Class 8 boy.

"The scene was emotionally overwhelming for us. Akash has been passionate about the guitar. We knew he would make it," said his mother Chaya Gupta.

An orchestra gave Akash support while he played popular film songs, patriotic tunes and pop numbers on people's demand. He took a break every four hours.

The earlier record was for 39 hours.
