Ranchi : Security has been tightened in all major temples and shopping malls in Jharkhand in the wake of bomb blasts in Hyderabad and Uttar Pradesh.
This follows warnings from intelligence agencies, according to Director General of Police J.B. Mahapatra.
Police officials said a close watch was being kept on educational institutions such as the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) in Ranchi. BIT had Wednesday played host to Atomic Energy Commission chairman Anil Kakodar.
At least 16 people were killed when a powerful bomb went off in a leading mosque in Hyderabad May 18. On Tuesday, three minor bombs exploded in Gorakhpur in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
