Kabul : Six tribal elders were killed Sunday when unidentified gunmen attacked their vehicle in western Afghan province of Herat, the local police said.
“Unknown gunmen opened fire on a civilian vehicle at around 10 a.m. local time in Gazara district, killing six people and injuring another,” Noor Khan Nikzad told Xinhua.
Nikzad blamed the Taliban for the attack, though there was no immediate word from the terror network claiming responsibility.
A deadly suicide attack in Afghanistan’s northern Baghlan province last Tuesday left more than 60 dead and dozens injured.
