Seoul : South Korea and North Korea Monday agreed to hold defence ministerial talks Nov 27-29 in Pyongyang, the defence ministry here announced.
The agreement came after working-level military talks between the two sides were held at the truce village of Panmunjom. Col. Moon Sung-mook leads South Korean Army delegation, and his North Korean counterpart is Col. Pak Rim-su.
However, the ministry did not disclose detailed agenda for the talks.
The two sides have agreed to discuss military measures to implement the joint declaration signed by South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun and North Korean top leader Kim Jong-il in early October, said the ministry.
Under the declaration, Roh and Kim outlined ways of reducing tensions through a series of confidence-building measures, including the creation of a joint fishing zone and a border peace zone in the West Sea (Yellow Sea), which the two sides have dispute over the sea border.
