Gaza City : An Israeli attack killed three Palestinian militants and wounded as many in the northern Gaza Strip Thursday afternoon, hospital officials and witnesses said.
An Israeli military spokeswoman in Tel Aviv confirmed the strike and said it was aimed at a group of militants who were about to launch rockets at Israel.
The group had four to five launchers with them, she said.
Initial reports said the casualties belonged to the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, the armed wing of the mainstream Fatah movement, which claimed responsibility for firing two rockets earlier in the day at the Israeli town of Sderot.
