Gaza : Military wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, claimed responsibility on Saturday for firing three home-made rockets into southern Israel.
The Israeli radio reported that the three missiles landed in Sderot in the Western Negev desert. The rockets caused damages to several cars parking on the street, but there was no casualty, according to the report.
“The shelling was in response to the Israeli targeting of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades’ activists in Gaza,” al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said in a press statement.
“The operation is also part of the ongoing rocket campaign” against Israel, which was launched last month by Fatah militants, the statement added.
Meanwhile, in the West Bank, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said its snipers have shot an Israeli soldier in the northern West Bank town of Nablus.
A statement by Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the PFLP’s military wing, said the Israeli soldier was wounded during an incursion around the al-Ein refugee camp in Nablus.
