Tehran : The United States is not capable of attacking Iran at present, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stressed in a televised interview with an Arabic-language tv network.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with al-Arabia tv network which was aired Friday night, the president said the Iranian nation will give a harsh response to any US attack.
However, President Ahmadinejad argued that Washington was not currently in a position to attack Iran due to several reasons including “absence of necessary economic, political and military grounds.”
“They (US officials) are sure that Iranians will give a harsh response to their attack and will make them regret the move,” Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted President Ahmadinejad as stressing.
Referring to Iran-Saudi Arabia “joint point of view,” the president said cooperation among neighboring states is the best choice to prevent others from putting pressures on regional countries.
“We want a region moving forward in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood and this is the policy adopted by Iran,” President Ahmadinejad stressed.
Noting that Tehran considered “all regional states as its neighbours,” the president stressed, “and there is no reasons for any hostility among regional states.”
“All existing problems can be solved and there is not obstacle on the way of resolving those problems,” President Ahmadinejad added.
