Srinagar : The police in Kashmir Wednesday arrested a driver here carrying Rs.1.4 million in cash allegedly meant for the frontline guerrilla outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
“The police Wednesday evening intercepted a Tata Sumo vehicle in Jehangir Chowk, Srinagar, and during search recovered Rs.14 lakh from the vehicle meant for the Hizbul Mujaheedin outfit,” a police spokesman here said,
“The driver of the vehicle, identified as Javed Ahmad Rather of south Kashmir Tral town, has been arrested and the vehicle has been seized,” the spokesman said.
“A case under section 16, 20, 40 of unlawful activities Act, 120, 121(A) RPC was registered,” the spokesman told IANS.
He said that the police have taken up further investigations and sensational disclosures are expected.
