Cairo : Arab leaders of Egypt, Jordan and Palestine share common views regarding the US-sponsored Annapolis peace conference, slated for Nov 27.

Following a meeting of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Jordanian King Abdullah II and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the Red Sea Resort of Sharm Elsheikh, Egyptian presidential spokesman Sulaiman Awad said there were identical views regarding the Middle East Peace Conference to be hosted by US President George W. Bush.

He expressed hope that the Annapolis meeting would lead to the relaunch of serious negotiations over the Middle East peace process, which came to a standstill seven years ago.

“We should wait and see the outcome of the Annapolis meeting,” Awad said.

He said there were ongoing consultations between the Arab leaders to draw out a unified stance to reach a final settlement for the Palestinian problem.
