Government to make statement on Taslima Wednesday

New Delhi : The government is set to make a statement in parliament Wednesday on controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen who was now at an undisclosed location in New Delhi after being forced out of Kolkata.

“External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will make a statement (on Nasreen) on Wednesday,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters here Tuesday when asked to comment on the author.

Nasreen, staying in Kolkata for the past few years, had to quit the city last Thursday after protest against her turned violent in that city. She was first taken to Jaipur and then brought to the Rajasthan House, the state government’s guesthouse in New Delhi. However, she was shifted to an undisclosed location in the capital late Tuesday.
