More than two years ago, employer Wee Keng Wan caught Barokah sneaking back into her flat following a tryst with a boyfriend, The Straits Times reported Tuesday.
In the argument that followed, Barokah pummelled Wee into unconsciousness and tossed her out of the window Oct 19, 2005, the court was told.
Barokah, whose husband works in Malaysia, had returned from a rendezvous with her Bangladeshi boyfriend.
A psychiatrist diagnosed Barokah with depression and a dependant personality disorder that draws her to men.
She had two affairs, which both resulted in offspring. After arriving in Singapore, she had an affair with her Bangladeshi boyfriend and gave birth to a daughter while in prison.
Lawyer Harpreet Singh Nehal stressed that the offence was not premeditated but “a wholly irrational and impulsive act”.
