Rahul Bakshi wins India leg of Faldo Series Golf

Kolkata : Chandigarh’s Rahul Bakshi won the India leg of the Faldo Series Asia Golf (FSA) at The Tollygunge Club here with a three-under 141 Tuesday.

The 17-year-old Bakshi, starting the second day two shots off the pace after a level-par 72 on day one, added a three-under 69. He carded the day’s lowest round of the tournament. He finished one shot ahead of Wasim Khan, 17, and will now travel to the FSA grand final, hosted by Faldo at Mission Hills Golf Club in China from Dec 12-14.

Five other players to be selected by the Indian Golf Union from the FSA India championship will join Bakshi in the 2007 FSA Grand Final.

The India championship was the ninth of 11 FSA events in 2007 in nine different countries. The event is supported by Mission Hills, the R&A and UBS.
