Kolkata : Priyanka Todi, the widow of Muslim youth Rizwanur Rahman who died mysteriously, Wednesday took back all articles that she had left in her in-law’s house when she returned to the home of her industrialist father who was opposed to the marriage.

“A four-member team headed by a person called Nazmul Karim took back all the articles of Priyanka. We have handed over about 140 photographs of Priyanka, two diaries, letters, clothes and a few cosmetics to him,” Rizwanur’s elder brother Rukbanur Rahman told IANS.

He said the representatives disclosed their identity before their family and took back all the items Wednesday evening from their Tiljala Lane house in Park Circus area.

“Earlier, we also told Priyanka that we would return all her articles and so we did. We had only one condition that we would hand over everything to her if she comes to us or sends someone with proper identity proof,” Rukbanur said.

Earlier, Priyanka wrote a letter to Rizwanur’s mother Keshwar Jahan, asking her to return her belongings.

The body of Rizwanur, a 30-year-old graphic designer, was found beside a railway track with his head smashed Sept 21, barely a month after his marriage to the daughter of industrialist Ashok Todi.

Ashok Todi had allegedly threatened his son-in-law with dire consequences and put pressure on him through the police to annul the marriage.

Later, Rukbanur told the police that he believed Rizwanur was murdered after he tied the knot with Priyanka.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing Rizwanur’s death.
