The Governor desired these steps while the Chief Minister Chouhan made a courtesy call on the former at the Raj Bhawan here today.

Expressing his concern over the loss suffered by the farmers due to the attack of caterpillar on their crops and inadequate rains, Dr. Jakhar said that timely supply of fertilisers and seeds should be ensured to the farmers along with uninterrupted power supply for the ensuing Rabi season.

In this connection, the Governor desired that the state government should issue necessary instructions soon to the officers for making suitable arrangements. The state government should accord top priority to providing relief and assistance to the drought-hit farmers, Dr. Jakhar added. The Governor also suggested that immediate relief should be provided to the farmers of Rewa division from where reports of large-scale damage to the crops due to caterpillar have been received.
