GCC ministers of municipal affairs to meet in Riyadh Oct 24

RIYADH, Oct 7 (KUNA) — GCC ministers of municipal affairs are to hold their 11th conference in Riyadh on October 24, a statement by the GCC secretariat said Sunday.
“On the agenda of the meeting are items of common interest specifically those involving real municipal work like urban planning and municipal fees and ways of collecting them,” the statement said.
Other items include construction regulations and ways of preserving traditional building character.
Participants in the ministerial meeting are also to discuss building an information data system for GCC municipalities to stay in touch with one another as a prelude to building a united municipal strategy for the GCC area in addition to ways of coordinating between the GCC and international organizations.
