Bhopl: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that industrialization has gained a fresh momentum in Madhya Pradesh and the state is now poised for a giant leap in this field.
Chouhan was laying the foundation for an industrial and Agro-tech project being set up by Abhishek Industries at Budni today.
The Chief Minister said that now there is nothing to stop Madhya Pradesh from striding on the road to progress. Madhya Pradesh has already shed the tag of a “BIMARU” (sick) state and would soon join the league of most developed states of the country. He said that the MoUs signed at Khajuraho investors’ meet in January last have started taking concrete shape. The Abhishek Industries of the Trident Group had signed a MoU on January 15 at Khajoraho for the project, for which the foundation has been laid today, he added.
Chouhan said that an industrial revolution is in the making in Madhya Pradesh. Fresh employment avenues would open for the youth of the state in industrial sector. The textile industry at Budni would throw open employment for about 3,000 youth. He asked the proprietor of the Trident Group to set a technical institute at Budni to impart training to the local youth. This would provide trained technical hands to meet the requirement of industry. He hoped that the technical institute would be inaugurated on April 14 next, the Vaisakhi day. He stressed the need for the farmers to adopt modern techniques of farming to maximize production.
The Chief Minister said that the Agrotech project would help farmers of the area get remunerative return of flowers, fruits and vegetables grown by them. The industry would provide a good market to the farmers. He assured to make arrangements a daily railway wagon from Itarsi to send the fruits and vegetables to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. He said that the proposed sugar factory of Abhishek Industries would improve the economic condition of the farmers.
The Chief Minister said that the farmers have been paid compensation at market rate for the 700 acre land acquired from them for this industry. The industrial complex being set up at Budni would open up new vistas of development in the area.
The Minister for Industries Jayant Malaiya said that adequate availability of land and electricity plus other suitable conditions have created a favourable atmosphere for investment in Madhya Pradesh. On the basis of the MoUs signed few months back, projects costing about Rs. 30,000 crore are in the process of implementation. Till 4-5 years back industrialists were reluctant to invest in Madhya Pradesh, he added.
The Chairman of Abhishek Industries S.K. Tuteja lauded the approach of the state government saying that it has extended full cooperation for establishment of the industry. The textile industry would have 2 lakh spindles and it would be the largest spinning mill in a single premises.
The Chief of Agrotech project Gokul Patnayak informed that high level training would be imparted to farmers of this area to maximize their profits. Agricultural farms would be set up and nurseries would be prepared for the farmers. Farming in 150 acre would start this year itself. A modern sugar factory would also be established for which cultivation of sugarcane in 5,000 acre would start. ([email protected])
