Japanese firm to set up Indian subsidiary

Coimbatore : The Murata Machinery Ltd., a leading Japanese textile equipment manufacturer, will begin its operations here in November, senior managing director Hidetoshi Kimura said here Saturday.

The Indian subsidiary firm is named “Murata Machinery India Pvt. Ltd”. It will commence its operations in three major textile hubs of India – Coimbatore, Mumbai and Delhi.

The company is expected to do business worth $100 million in this financial year, while its business has grown 800 percent over the last 10 years, an official said.

India accounts for nearly 30 percent of Murata Machinery’s global textile machinery sales.

Murata Machinery will enhance its operations in market support, installation and follow-up services for textile machineries, which have been traditionally handled by the company’s authorised service partner, MMI Services Pvt. Ltd.
