Bangalore : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) Monday presented Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur individual letters from 121 legislators supporting the formation of a coalition government.

State BJP chief D.V. Sadananda Gowda and his JD-S counterpart Merajuddin Patel gave the letters to the governor.

The two parties also plan to parade the 121 legislators before Thakur at 5.30 p.m. Monday.

Of the 121 legislators, 79 belong to the BJP and 42 to the JD-S. For a majority in the 225-member assembly, 113 votes are required.

Meanwhile, rebel JD-S leader M.P. Prakash, who questioned the validity of the JD-S support to the BJP, met Thakur after former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy of JD-S failed to persuade him to give up his efforts form an alternative government with the Congress support.
