AMU to open in phases beginning Nov. 6th

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University has decided to resume the teaching in the University in a phased manner from November 6th, 2007.

A press release issued by the university gave the plans for the phased opening of the campus.

In the first phase, teaching of J N Medical College, Sir Ziauddin Dental College, Z H College of Engineering & Technology, as well as Class XII and Nursery to class X will commence on November 6, 2007.

In the second phase, teaching of PG classes in the Faculties of Science, Life Sciences, Management, Agricultural Sciences, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology unit as well as class XI will commence on November 13, 2007.

In the third phase, teaching of Post Graduate classes in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, Theology and Law will commence from November 19, 2007.

In the fourth phase, teaching of Undergraduate classes in the Faculties of Science, Life Sciences and all courses of the Faculty of Unani Medicine will commence on November 23, 2007.

In the last phase, Under Graduate courses of the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, Theology, Law and all courses in the Boys and Girls Polytechnic will commence on November 27, 2007.

All the students have been advised to report in their respective Halls of residence on a day before the commencement of their classes.

AMU campus was closed beginning Sept. 17th after arson and violence following murder of a student.
