New Delhi : India Tuesday expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the twin bomb blasts in Pakistan’s garrison town Rawalpindi that killed over 25 people and left 60 injured.
“It’s very unfortunate. We have deep sympathy for the victims,” External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters when asked about New Delhi’s reaction to the blasts in Pakistan Tuesday morning.
Mukherjee was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference of editors of the IBSA countries comprising India, Brazil and South Africa.
The first explosion ripped through a bus carrying defence ministry employees near Qasim market in an army administered area. The second bomb went off in a motorcycle near the R.A. Bazar, located close to the army headquarters.
Pakistan has been reeling under a spate of terrorist bombings that have claimed over 200 lives since security forces stormed the radical Lal Masjid in Islamabad in July.
