Some 70,000 expected to perform Laylat Al-Qadr prayers in Kuwait’s Great Mosque

Kuwait : Some 70,000 people are expected to gather at the Great Mosque for Laylat Al-Qadr prayers in one of the final days of the holy month of Ramadan.

Dr Adel Al-Falah, the undersecretary of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said at a news conference here Thursday that 50,000 worshippers were expected to take part in the overnight prayers during the last 10 days of the fasting month, and the figure would peak to 70,000 on the 27th day of Ramadan.

The authorities have made all necessary preparations for the annual religious service.

Laylat Al-Qadr marks the revelation of the Koran to Prophet Muhammad.
