Baghdad : At least 13 Iraqi civilians died and 11 others were wounded in a shelling launched by the US Air forces on Al Doura neighbourhood, southern Baghdad, on Friday, police sources reported.
According to Al Doura residents, the victims included two women and four children. Al Sharkiya television channel quoted the sources repeatedly saying that the attack was staged by an American fighter against a house building in Hay al Siha, which the US military suspected to be a shelter of the resistance.
The American military intelligence considers Al Doura a hideout of the Iraqi insurgences.
Though police sources provided detail information on the attack, the US Army has made no comments on the bombing at the building.
The building was badly damaged, as well as nearby buildings, due to explosions.
Also early Friday, police reported finding nine bodies, with their tied hands and there were signs of torture, when patrolling Baghdad streets.
