The funds will be allocated to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to be used for refugees in Syria, Jordan and even those Iraqis who were displaced inside their own country.

Germany’s total financial aid for Iraqi refugees stood at 3.7 million euros since the beginning of the year.

Around 2.8 million Iraqis were displaced inside their country since the start of the US war in Iraq, while two million Iraqis fled the country.

The German financial assistance for refugees is used for the health sector, food supplies and household goods, according to the foreign ministry.
